We want to make this clear - our wrap is NOT about "getting your body back"
- because it never left.

In many different cultures all over the world, the birth of the baby begins the time of rest. The Ab Wrap was inspired by the tradition of "Mother Roasting/Warming" which is a collection of different healing practices that signify the rite of passage of the birther becoming a parent. The wrap specifically was inspired by Bengkung Belly Binding which began in Malaysia and Indonesia.

​In North America, postpartum healing is not fully considered. Instead new parents are racing to get back into their skinny jeans, striving to not look pregnant anymore and they start working on personal bests at the gym around 2 weeks postpartum.

Bumi Sehat is a not-for-profit organization founded in Bali in 1995, with programs in Indonesia and the Philippines. They advocate for displaced and low-income people and have 3 birthing centres in Indonesia and 2 in the Philippines. They also provide disaster relief support - like after the Philippine Tsunami in 2013 , the 9.3 earthquake/tsunami in Aceh, Indonesia 2004, the earthquakes in Yogyakarta Indonesia 2006, Padang Indonesia 2008, Haiti 2010, and Nepal 2015.

At their clinics, they offer a comprehensive range of allopathic and holistic medicine, as well as pre and post-natal care, breastfeeding support, infant, child and family health services, nutritional education, pre-natal yoga and gentle, loving natural birth services. They believe that access to quality healthcare and to loving, culturally appropriate childbirth is a human right -
